Airone Vertical Laminar Flow Cabinet for Laboratories

The Airone Vertical Laminar Flow Cabinet provides clean, ULPA filtered airflow for laboratory applications where product or sample protection from airborne contamination is required.

Designed to provide ISO Class 4 clean conditions, the cabinet delivers filtered air vertically down onto the working area, helping maintain a clean workspace for suitable non-hazardous laboratory processes.

Important: This cabinet is designed for product protection. It is not a fume cupboard and should not be used for hazardous fumes, vapours or applications requiring operator protection.

Need a vertical laminar flow cabinet for product or sample protection?

Best suited for

The Airone Vertical Laminar Flow Cabinet is best suited for laboratories that need a clean working environment to help protect products, samples or processes from airborne contamination.

It is particularly suitable for:

  • Laboratory product protection
  • Sample preparation
  • Clean air workspaces
  • Sterile handling applications
  • Quality control environments
  • No-risk cell cultures
  • Non-pathogenic biological specimens
  • Applications requiring ISO Class 4 clean conditions
  • Applications where vertical laminar airflow is preferred

Product overview

The Airone Vertical Laminar Flow Cabinet provides clean conditions to ISO Class 4 and compliance with BS EN 14644. The cabinet uses ULPA filtered parallel airflow, with filters situated at the top of the cabinet to direct clean air vertically down onto the working area.

Air is initially drawn through a high-quality EV4 pre-filter to remove larger particulates. It then passes through the fan system before being forced through a U15 ULPA filter, removing 99.9998% of particulates greater than 0.12µm.

Filtered air flows vertically down to the work surface, where it spreads towards the front exit of the cabinet. This helps provide a particle-free working environment and supports product protection for suitable applications.

Product features

  • Vertical laminar airflow — directs clean filtered air down onto the working area.
  • ISO Class 4 clean conditions — supports product and sample protection in suitable laboratory applications.
  • U15 ULPA filtration — removes 99.9998% of particulates greater than 0.12µm.
  • EV4 pre-filter — removes larger particulates before air reaches the main ULPA filter.
  • Positive pressure particle-free working area — helps maintain clean conditions for suitable applications.
  • Stainless steel work surface — provides a durable working area.
  • Epoxy-coated rolled steel construction — supports robust cabinet construction.
  • Low energy operation — normal operation starts at just 65 watts.
  • Low noise operation — sound levels from 54dB(A) on the largest unit.
  • LED lighting as standard — overhead high-intensity LED lighting provides more than 1000 lux.
  • Digital high-performance fans — support low noise operation and low energy consumption.

Why choose the Airone Vertical Laminar Flow Cabinet?

Choose the Airone Vertical Laminar Flow Cabinet if your laboratory needs a clean air workspace for product or sample protection, with vertical filtered airflow directed down onto the working area.

The cabinet is suitable for applications where a clean, particle-controlled working environment is required, but where operator protection from hazardous substances is not the primary requirement. Its ULPA filtration, low energy operation and low noise performance make it a practical option for suitable laboratory processes.

Key reasons to choose this model include:

  • ISO Class 4 clean conditions;
  • vertical ULPA filtered airflow;
  • product and sample contamination protection;
  • positive pressure particle-free working area;
  • low energy operation from 65 watts;
  • low noise operation from 54dB(A);
  • stainless steel work surface;
  • suitable for no-risk cell cultures and non-pathogenic biological specimens.

Vertical laminar flow vs horizontal laminar flow

Vertical and horizontal laminar flow cabinets both provide clean filtered airflow for product or sample protection. The main difference is the direction of airflow through the working area.

Laminar flow cabinet vs Class II cabinet

A laminar flow cabinet is primarily designed to protect the product, sample or process from airborne contamination. A Class II cabinet is designed for biological safety applications where operator, product and environmental protection may be required.

Use a laminar flow cabinet for suitable non-hazardous product protection applications. Consider a Class II cabinet where biological containment or operator protection is required.

Clean airflow and filtration

The Airone Vertical Laminar Flow Cabinet uses a high-quality EV4 pre-filter followed by a U15 ULPA filter to provide clean filtered air down onto the working area.

The U15 ULPA filter removes 99.9998% of particulates greater than 0.12µm, supporting clean conditions to ISO Class 4 for suitable product protection applications.

Filtered air flows vertically down to the work surface, where it spreads towards the front exit of the cabinet, helping maintain a particle-free working environment.

Energy efficiency and low noise operation

The Airone Vertical Laminar Flow Cabinet is designed for low energy consumption, with normal operation starting at just 65 watts.

It is also designed for low noise operation, with sound levels from 54dB(A) on the largest unit. Overhead high-intensity LED lighting above 1000 lux is provided as standard to give even illumination of the working area.

The cabinet uses digital high-performance fans to support low noise operation and low energy consumption.
